Last week saw the tragic death of Prescot Cables’ 19 year old player Jack Riding.

Jack was taken ill while playing a five-a-side game last Monday, and sadly passed away on Wednesday.

Grassroots football has come together in a show of support for Jack, a promising young footballer, and his family with a minutes silence at the weekend.

A justgiving page has also been set up to raise funds for Jack’s parents at this difficult time. The original target was £2,000, but the total currently stands at £6,500 and continues to rise.

Cheshire Lines Football would like to continue to show its support towards this worthy cause by urging anyone in the grassroots game to contribute whatever they can afford. The page can be found by clicking here
