Less than 24hrs after the official announcement of this seasons pre-season friendly fixtures, the club has found itself in crisis talks with one of its intended opponents.

Aintree Villa yesterday released footage of their pitch, which has been left decimated by the recent heatwave. With the surface unplayable, the chances of the match hang in the balance.

Club officials are holding crisis talks as Chairman Pollard explained:

Unfortunately, its just one of those freak occurrences. Its not that often we have a summer this lovely, but clearly it has taken its toll on grassroots grounds, who’s ability to adjust it restricted by the lack of funding from the FA and professional game.

Naturally we are keen for this game to still go ahead. An alternative venue, which might include our ground are being considered and we hope to have a resolution soon.
